Game Threat: Jays (19-20) vs. Rays (16-19)

Hey… it’s… uh… the Rays.

I dunno. I’m mostly just here for some scuttlebutt. Let’s maybe win a game, though, eh??

“Given the circumstances, I felt like he was owed one. And I was going out there to get him,” says Kevin Pillar of his actions after Rougned Odor’s punch to Jose Bautista’s jaw on Sunday, according to a tweet from Arden Zwelling. Hmmm…

Scott MacArthur tweets that it’s expected any suspensions from the argle-bargle in Arlington will be announced tomorrow.

The Jays have claimed living, breathing “Plan the Paredes” joke, Jimmy Paredes, on waivers from Baltimore. He’s a versatile guy — in 2015 he spent time in the big leagues, at third base, second base, and in both corner outfield spots — so… OK? I imagine this means Andy Burns goes back to Buffalo, then? The Jays had room on their 40-man roster, so they didn’t need to make a reciprocal move in that respect, at least.

Brandon Morrow: hero.

More on Rougie Odor’s history of violence is here at Blue Jays From Away.

We’re now at the magical 40 game mark. The issues of the team are obvious so no need for a 1000 word essay here. Aside from the thumping the Rays put on us, I’d hope the melee from Texas is the spark to use to get these guys going.
