Spring Threat: Tulo, Estrada make 2017 debuts, Rays @ Jays

© Jonathan Dyer

After spending the majority of spring training low-key managing the team, Blue Jays daddy Troy Tulowitzki will make his 2017 debut, while Marcus Stroman will get the start, and Marco Estrada will also make his debut in relief at some point. And it’s on TV!

I’m not sure how much stake I want to put into this. The Score references an article from a few days ago by Gregor Chisholm on MLB.com (and on the At Bat app if you follow the Jays) about left field options. It runs through the standard names, Melvin Upton, Zeke Carrera, and Steve Pearce, but then interestingly mentions Angel Pagan, going on to say that he and the Jays have been “linked” in recent days. He then goes on to say that Pagan probably isn’t interested in some fourth outfielder, platoon kind of deal, but if it’s March 5 and he doesn’t have a contract yet, I’m guessing he won’t be too picky.

In some positive injury news, Josh Donaldson seems to progressing fine! He and Aaron Sanchez went to Las Vegas to watch some UFC shit, which prompted John Gibbons to say:
