5 Blue Jays prospects earn promotion to High-A Vancouver

The Vancouver Canadians’ roster is set to receive more talent as the 2026 baseball season rolls on.
On Tuesday, five players including Austin Smith, Jean Joseph, Dariel Ramon, Raimundo De Los Santos, and Franly Urena were promoted from Single-A Dunedin to High-A Vancouver.
Austin Smith
Smith, taken in the 10th round of the 2025 MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays, brings an intriguing element to Vancouver as the 23-year-old has played both outfield and pitched this season.
In 67 games this season, Smith is batting .207 with one home run and nine RBIs to go along with nine steals in 11 attempts. This follows up his 2025 professional debut in which Smith appeared in 23 games and batted .259 with two home runs, seven RBIs, and reached base at a .394 clip.
On the mound, Smith has worked exclusively as a reliever and across 13 games, the left-hander is 2-0 with a 4.05 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP. Across 13.1 innings, Smith has struck out 15 batters and allowed a .283 average.
Jean Joseph
Joseph is currently in the midst of his fifth season within the Blue Jays’ organization after signing with the club on January 15, 2022 as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic.
The 21-year-old has spent time in both the FCL and Single-A this season after suffering an injury that forced him to appear in 10 games in Rookie League as he worked his way back to Dunedin. In 18 games with Dunedin this season, the outfielder is batting .276 with four RBIs while turning in a .358 on-base percentage.
Dariel Ramon
Ramon joined the Blue Jays’ organization as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic on June 16, 2023. After spending time in the Dominican Summer League and FCL, Ramon was promoted to Dunedin to close out the 2025 season.
After appearing in 15 games last season, Ramon has spent the entire 2026 season in Dunedin. Across 75 games, the infielder is batting .245 with four home runs, 27 RBIs, and has recorded a .373 OBP with 21 steals in 24 attempts.
Raimundo De Los Santos
De Los Santos was signed by the Blue Jays as a free agent on May 8, 2025, and has appeared in seven games in Double-A with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats over the past two seasons. In 15 career at-bats with the Fisher Cats, De Los Santos is 1-for-15 with one run scored and two walks.
The 21-year-old made his Single-A debut this season and in 50 games with Dunedin this season, the infielder batted .250 with three home runs and 17 RBIs. De Los Santos recorded an OBP of .376 and created problems while on the bases, highlighted by 20 steals in 26 attempts.
Franly Urena
Urena has pitched well this season working out of the Dunedin bullpen, and has shown the ability to provide some length. Across 27 games (one start), Urena is 4-3 with a 3.51 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP.
The 22-year-old has thrown 41 innings, in which he has recorded 49 strikeouts, held teams to a .217 average, and has picked up four saves in all four opportunities he’s been tasked with during the 2026 campaign.
