Are you a watch enthusiast? Like surfing on sites like Watch Shopping? Have you thought about the important role of bracelet? Gold, steel, leather, rubber or nylon: the material of the bracelet or strap of your watch can make the difference and make it more or less suitable for a specific occasion. In this article we show you some of the most famous bracelets and straps for watches, and the most suitable occasions to wear them.

Jubile Bracelet

Born in 1945 for the Rolex Datejust, the jubilé bracelet, with the invisible clasp and its five links, has been synonymous with extreme elegance and comfort for over 70 years. Although it has also been used over the years for more sporty watches, such as the Rolex GMT-Master, the jubilé bracelet is in the common imagination an iconic element of Rolex with more classic lines, such as the Rolex Datejust, but also Rolex Day Date or the minimal Rolex Oyster Perpetual.

Oyster Bracelet

The Oyster bracelet has always been associated with the resistance and waterproofness of Rolex sports models. Created in 1947, with its three meshes it is perfect both under a shirt and during a dive. The watches that fit best are the Rolex Daytona and GMT-Master sportsmen, but also divers like the Rolex Submariner and Sea Dweller.

Pilot Strap

The Pilot strap was born in Germany during the Second World War. Military watches had to adapt to different situations and be very resistant. The studs on this type of strap served not to allow it to open. Several well-known brands for their aviator watches, such as the prestigious IWC or the historic Laco, have equipped many of their models with this type of strap. Although today their function is no longer so important, the studs give the watch a sporty and at the same time elegant style.

Milano Knit Bracelet

The Milan mesh bracelet was introduced into the world of watchmaking in the 1930s, and takes its name from the place where it was conceived: Milan. However the style of this type of knitwear dates back to the 13th century, when it was used to make medieval knitwear. Especially in recent years this type of bracelet is used a lot for fashionable watches. An example of a watch that fits this type of bracelet is the Tissot Visodate, a classic 1950s by the Swiss fashion house, which thanks to the Milan mesh bracelet combines a modern and retro style with a contemporary character.

Racing Strap

This strap is inspired above all by the gloves of automobile drivers and is found above all in chronographs. The perforation, large or small, typical of the Racing strap serves for the good transpiration of the skin during the races. It is ideal for motoring enthusiasts and vintage lovers. An iconic watch that mounts this type of strap is the TAG Heuer Monaco, which has become a legend thanks to Steve McQueen with the film “Le 24 Ore di Le Mans”.

NASA Strap

The Velcro strap, commonly known as a NASA strap or NATO strap, was created for military use. Extremely durable, safe, versatile and wearable, this strap has been used, and is still used, by NASA astronauts and the NATO military for space or ground missions.
Again, the bracelet can make difference on every occasion. So choose the one that meets your needs.
