Alejandro Kirk, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette and George Springer headline early voting for the American League all-star team.
Kirk stands out as the most hilarious significant player of the bunch given he’s got over one million votes and a staggering 600,000 votes above the second-place Jose Trevino. His season has been tremendous so far leading all catchers with a .307 batting average.
Gurrero Jr. is leading all first basemen with 350,000 votes ahead of the second-placed Ty France. It’s been another solid season for Vladdy who’s jacked 17 home runs and a 144 OPS+.
Bichette’s leading the way with 50,000 more votes than Tim Anderson leaving this race wide open, while Springer ranks third in outfield voting with 622,063 votes, half of the second-placed Mike Trout.
There are a few honourable mentions to boot. Santiago Espinal is second in second-base voting with 188,000 votes behind Jose Altuve, while Matt Chapman sits third in third-base voting. His 406k votes sits behind Jose Ramirez (711,367) and Rafael Devers (727,669).
At the DH spot, Danny Jansen gets some love coming in fourth place with 297,000 votes. Lastly, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Teoscar Hernandez sit seventh and eighth in outfield voting.
