I have no doubt in my mind that the Blue Jays are a better team than the Yankees, but… uh… or…
I have only a little doubt in my mind that the Blue Jays are a better team than the Yankees, but now that we’re here and really lookin’ at it… with R.A. Dickey on the hill, kicking off a stretch of four straight series alternating between the Yankees and Red Sox, I… uh…
I’m sure it could totally be fine. Just avoid leaving it to the bullpens to battle out, amiright?

Scuttlebutt

I’d like to act a little more confident in Dickey — though he’s coming off a real turd of a game, he’d at least preceded that with a six start stretch over which he posted a 3.32 ERA (with understandably worse peripherals) — but it is what it is. So here’s hoping!
Gregor Chisholm tweets that the Jays have made a change to their rotation setup, pushing Aaron Sanchez back a day in order to get him extra rest. The timing makes sense, John Gibbons noted, because it also allows the club to skip Sanchez against the lefty-heavy Yankees (because, though the LHB boogeyman I’ve tried my best to conjure around here is maybe a little overstated *COUGH*, it can’t hurt). J.A. Happ will start Thursday afternoon in New York, with Marco Estrada keeping his start tomorrow.
Barry Davis tweets that Jose Bautista’s suspension appeal hearing will take place in New York on Thursday. It’s typical that these hearings don’t happen until a player’s team is in the New York area, so… yeah. He’ll either have his suspension reduced or he won’t!
Ben Wagner, the voice of the Buffalo Bisons, tweets that Devon Travis is slated to play the full nine innings at second base for Buffalo tonight and tomorrow, and then he’ll DH on Thursday. So, a) don’t ask why he’s at DH on Thursday, and b) sounds like the rehab is coming along rather swimmingly.
Ben also tells us that Aaron Loup is scheduled to pitch a rehab inning for the Bisons tonight.
