Game Threat: Jays (24-25) vs. Red Sox (29-18)
The Jays should probably win at least a couple of these damn games against the stupid Red Sox, eh?
At least it looks like they’re in good hands, with Aaron Sanchez getting the start tonight. Or… well… you can’t say he’s not well rested!
Even better is the fact that Joe Kelly, who is bad, gets the call for Boston. Now that’s how you start a series!
Scuttlebutt
Jose Bautista’s suspension was upheld, and he’ll serve it tonight. Rougned Odor had his eight game suspension shortened to seven, so there was maybe some hope Bautista would have a game knocked off his as well, but apparently MLB wasn’t having it. Meh. I mean… he did slide illegally and intentionally to “send a message” after getting dumbly plunked by the bizarrely not-suspended Matt Bush. I’m OK with there being punishment for that. It would just be nice if the other punishments better fit their crimes.
The Jays have added former Red Sox catcher Ryan Lavarnway on a minor league deal, apparently. Wake me when he gets to Buffalo. (Speaking of, is AJ Jimenez currently on fire and ready to give people false hope about his future? I think he might be!)
