GDB 32.0: The Toronto Blue Jays still have one more game to play against the Boston Red Sox
By Zach Laing1 month ago
I know it’s not the news you want to hear, but here we are — one game left in this godforsaken series against the Boston Red Sox.
As I detailed in yesterday’s GDB, things hadn’t been great through the first two games of the set. Surprise surprise, the same followed suit last night, too. I think I can speak for Jays fan everywhere when I say that I just want this series over.
Toronto’s now dropped four straight games, all in ugly fashion, marking this the longest losing streak of the season. There’s no denying the fact that these sorts of things will happen over the course of a 162-game season. What’s important, however, is putting a stop to it.
In 2022, the Jays’ longest losing streak was five games, which happened twice, between May 7th and the 13th, then again from July 2nd to the 5th.
In 2021, they lost six straight from May 19th to the 24th. It was another six straight in 2020 from September 15th to the 19th.
Tonight, Kevin Gausman will look to lead the charge and put a stop to this skid.
