The Toronto Blue Jays are off to the Bay Area for their first series at Oracle Park since 2019.

They would split a two-game series against the San Francisco Giants, with the Jays winning Game 1 7-3, while falling 4-3 in Game 2. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. would lead the Jays in those games, hitting two home runs in the first game, while going 3-for-7 and driving in five runs.

The Jays are hoping to tap back into that offence Tuesday night as they open up a three-game set facing Blake Snell. Last year’s NL Cy Young winner, however, is nothing like he used to be.

He held out well into the offseason before signing a one-year deal with the Giants. He’s made just six starts this year throwing 23 and two-third innings, giving up a staggering 25 earned runs in that time, while dealing with a few injuries, as well.

In the past, the Blue Jays have managed to have success against Snell, who spent five years to start his career in Tampa Bay before spending three in San Diego. Guerrero Jr. has gone 2-for-4 with three walks, George Springer 4-for-13, hitting a home run while Alejandro Kirk, Daulton Varsho and Bo Bichette are hitting over .333 in minimal plate appearances.

The Jays will counter on the mound with Yusei Kikuchi, who has been pounded by Matt Chapman and Jorge Soler in the past. Chapman has gone 5-for-16, taking three walks and hitting two home runs off him, while Soler has gone 3-for-8 with two home runs off his own.
