After a quick stint on the 10-day disabled list with left arm shittyness, Jaime Garcia will be back this weekend when the Blue Jays head to Philadelphia to play the Phillies.
Garcia has been bad this year. I don’t need to go into much detail because everyone’s witnessed it, but he doesn’t have a quality start since his first appearance of the season against the Chicago White Sox. Maybe the week-and-a-half on the shelf cured the arm shittyness and Garcia will now be good? Probably not!
Anyways, the more interesting topic of conversation now is who between Joe Biagini and Sam Gaviglio remains in the rotation. Gaviglio has been better as his one start was solid whereas all four of Biagini’s starts have been bad. I don’t think the decision is all that difficult. Personally I hope the Biagini starter experiment just comes to an end. Forget sending him back down to Buffalo to start, throw him back in the ‘pen.
Toronto’s bullpen has been heavily taxed all season as the starters have been complete junk and it’s noticeably taking its toll. Adding Biagini to the ‘pen would give them another multi-inning arm who can pitch in high-leverage situations. Make things right!
