The Blue Jays are coming off a four-game sweep of the Orioles meaning they’re on their first win streak of that length since they swept the Royals back in April. Now they’ll head down to Tampa Bay to play with the Rays in the House of Horrors.
The Jays, oddly enough, have played the Rays in just one series this season. That came back in early May when they had that ugly stretch where they travelled from Minnesota to Cleveland for a double-header and then went straight down to Tampa. The Rays took two of three from the Jays in that series and that’s kinda where the team’s horrendous May stretch began.

No. 2 starter Sammy G is coming off his best start as a Blue Jay. He shut out the Yankees over seven innings and held them to just three hits last Wednesday but the Jays ended up getting dropped in extra innings as the offence was completely limp. Sammy G has been a shocking revelation for the Blue Jays in the rotation this year. Can this continue? He’ll go against Ryan Yarborough, who Tampa Bay had been using as the long, middle inning guy during their reliever starter games. The last time the Rays did that thing Yarborough had to come into the game in the first inning because reliever Jonny Venters got spanked for five runs while recording just one out.

Jaime Garcia has been hit and miss since coming off the disabled list. He did well against Philly, got killed by Detroit, and then did well against Baltimore. He’s currently dealing with a blister and it isn’t yet known if he’ll make this start on Tuesday. We also have no idea who’s starting for Tampa Bay. Probably a reliever? Maybe a fan in the audience? Who knows!

It’ll be J.A. Happ going for the Jays in the finale. After a bit of a rough start against Detroit last weekend, Happ was ridiculously good against the Trash Birds. He held them to just two hits over seven innings and looked completely in command from moment one. We again don’t know who’s going to start for Tampa in the finale. They currently have both Chris Archer and Jake Faria on the DL, so it could be a reliever or it could be a swing guy like Matt Andriese or Nathan Eovaldi.
