The Blue Jays took two-of-three from the trash-eating, sewer-dwelling Rangers back in early April. Can they do it again this weekend when they host them in Toronto? Remember: The Rangers have lost six-straight playoff games to the Jays.

How’s Texas’ season going? Well, Mike Minor has become their ace. Uhhhhhh. Yeah! Minor has made four starts this season and he’s sporting a 3.86 ERA. In his previous start against Toronto earlier this season, Minor allowed just two hits in six innings while collecting seven strikeouts. He was opposed by Marcus Stroman in that game. Stroman struggled with the cold temperature and allowed five runs over four-and-two-thirds innings. It’s been a rough start for Stroman, as he owns an 8.55 ERA, though his FIP suggests he should be doing much better.

Actually, saying Mike Minor is the team’s ace is probably false. It’s been Bartolo Colon. Big Sexy. The ageless wonder. The only Expo left standing. This old fucker is still chucking it, as Colon has a sparkling 2.59 ERA through 24 1/3 innings, which spans three starts and two relief appearances. He carried a perfect game against the Houston Astros into the eighth inning, which was insane. He’ll go against Jaime Garcia who’s been very consistent for the Jays thus far. Garcia owns a 4.57 ERA and has cleared five innings in each of his four starts.

Martin Perez has been all kinds of terrible this season. Through four starts, the lefty owns a 9.82 ERA and has struck out just 11 batters through 18 1/3 innings. He’s had two horrendous starts against Anaheim and Tampa, but two decent ones against Oakland and Seattle. He’ll be opposed by J.A. Happ, who’s coming off an excellent 10-strikeout, seven-one-run-innings showing against Boston. Happ didn’t face Texas the first time around.

Fuck Texas. But also, this represents a great chance for the Jays to get back on track after a 2-5 showing against New York and Boston. The Rangers are having a hell of a time scoring runs. They have both Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus, the team’s OPS leaders, on the disabled list, making their lineup a shell of its usual self.
