The St. Louis Cardinals will be without all-stars Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado as they travel to Toronto for a two-game series.
Both players are unvaccinated and will miss games Tuesday and Wednesday, as will catcher Austin Romine.
Once again, everyone in the U.S. is very mad online seeming to forget that their own country doesn’t allow unvaccinated travelers, alas, we will continue to laugh at them.
Nonetheless, Goldschmidt and Arenado are two of the Cardinals’ best players. Goldschmidt’s slash rate of .333/.416/.603 leads the Cardinals in all three categories, as do his home runs (22) and RBIs (74). Arenado, meanwhile, is second in batting average (.299), home runs (18), RBIs (59) and slugging percentage (.534). He’s also third in OBP with a .363.
The Jays will need to take advantage of it as best as they can. These are two big power bats for the Cardinals, so let’s see if they can come out and sweep these two games.
First pitch for game one comes Tuesday night at 7:07 p.m. EST.
