<p>Now, you might be asking why I&#8217;m putting any stock into some random guy on Twitter with just over 600 followers and no verification badge. This is because Boboa came out of nowhere around this time last year with a report that the Blue Jays had agreed to a deal with Kevin Gausman that was worth around $100 million over five years. A few days later, the news broke that Gausman had signed a five-year, $110 million deal with the Blue Jays.</p>

<p>This could very well have been a lucky guess as the Blue Jays had been rumoured to be interested in Gausman for quite some time, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. But, still, random small accounts getting scoops before the major national reporters isn&#8217;t uncommon these days. Don&#8217;t forget who was the first to break the George Springer signing.</p>

<p>If the Blue Jays were willing to pull the trigger on a huge Nimmo contract, the decision to move Teoscar Hernandez in an extremely cost-cutting deal would make a lot of sense. It&#8217;ll be interesting to see if they&#8217;re comfortable handing out that much coin to a player with significant injury concerns just two years after signing Springer to a $150 million deal.</p>
