Chris Bassitt has made himself more than welcome in Toronto after inking a three-year, $63-million contract this past off-season.

While on the mound he&#8217;s had some struggles, he&#8217;s also had others where looks like an absolute hound. He&#8217;s posted a 9-5 record — something that&#8217;s going to be even more important for him to continue to improve — and is on pace for a career-high 16 wins this year.
And on Tuesday, Bassitt and his wife Jessica announced they would be pledging support to the Jays Care Foundation with a $10,000 donation for each game the Jays win with him on the roster.
Proceeds will go towards Jay&#8217;s Care RBI Summer Edition, a free sports program that works to support the physical and mental well-being of Toronto children living in under-resourced parts of the city.
“When we joined the Blue Jays, our family immediately felt embraced by the local community and fans across the country. We are building our family in Toronto and believe strongly in giving back to the community that supports us on and off the field,” the Bassitt family said in a statement. “Sports have an incredibly positive impact on children’s emotional and physical well-being, and we are excited to partner with Jays Care on all the amazing work they do with kids and sports.”
With the donation being retroactive to the start of this year, it means that the program will automatically receive $90,000 in funding.
