The hype at the Rogers Centre ahead of Game 1 of the wild-card series with the Mariners was incredibly high but Alek Manoah was tagged for three earned runs in the first inning. Luis Castillo, Seattle’s big trade deadline addition, was dominant after that as the Mariners cruised to a 4-0 win.
We talked about Manoah’s tough debut, the bats that looked totally lifeless, and how the Blue Jays can come back with Robbie Ray and Logan Gilbert in line to pitch in Game 2 and 3.
