BJN Radio – Ep. 166: Blue Jays put a dent in Angels’ playoff hopes, acquire a fireballer, and more!

Talk about a big weekend.
The Blue Jays hosted the Los Angeles Angels and put a dent in their playoff hopes by taking two of three games in the series. And then, immediately following Sunday’s game, they pulled the trigger on a deal to land one of the best relief pitchers on the trade market in Jordan Hicks.
We talked about the good and the bad from the Angels series, including Matt Chapman getting fired up about John Schneider not walking Shohei Ohtani and Alek Manoah losing his command and drilling Taylor Ward. We also talked about the addition of Hicks and what Toronto’s pitching staff looks like when everyone is healthy.
After that, we took a look around the American League East and this week’s huge series with the division-leading Baltimore Orioles.
