<p>Two out of three ain&#8217;t bad but that definitely felt like a missed opportunity for the Toronto Blue Jays.</p>

<p>Jose Berrios tossed another quality start but the Blue Jays couldn&#8217;t come through with a big hit and wound up losing the series finale to the L.A. Angels in extra innings.</p>
<h2>Things worth mentioning&#8230;</h2>
<ul>
<li>Jose Berrios got the start for the Blue Jays and allowed just one earned run over the course of six innings. He worked around six hits and two walks while striking out six. It&#8217;s the fifth start in a row that Berrios allowed two or fewer runs. The last time he was tagged for more than two earned runs in a start was back on June 30 when he allowed four in a loss to the Boston Red Sox.</li>
<li>After Berrios, Genesis Cabrera came into the game and worked through the seventh and got one more out to start the eighth and then Jay Jackson came in and finished off the inning. Tim Mayza tossed a scoreless ninth inning but Yimi Garcia allowed a two-run bomb to Hunter Renfroe in the 10th inning that put the Angels up by a score of 3-1.</li>
<li>Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a single in the bottom half of the 10th to score Bo Bichette, who was the ghost runner at second, to bring the Blue Jays to within one run. Matt Chapman then drew a walk to move put the tying run on base but Geroge Springer, Cavan Biggio, and Danny Jansen couldn&#8217;t come through.</li>
<li>Speaking of Springer, he went 0-for-5 on the day despite some hard-hit balls. His last hit came during Toronto&#8217;s series in Seattle last weekend and he&#8217;s now mired in an 0-for-28 slump.</li>
<li>The Blue Jays now have a four-game lead on the Angels in the Wild Card standings in the American League. Winning on Sunday and avoiding the sweep was huge for Los Angeles keeping their slim playoff hopes alive.</li>
