On Sunday afternoon, the Blue Jays hosted the Tampa Bay Rays for the final game of the regular season and lost by a score of 12-8. Toronto finishes the season with a record of 89-73, good for the third Wild Card spot in the American League and a trip to Minnesota to face the Twins in the first round of the playoffs.

As you know, Schneider broke into the league blazing hot, literally having one of the best starts in the history of the game. Prior to this game, he was 0-31, but there were a lot of hard-hit balls, and quite a few rough strike three calls with balls out of the zone.

<h2>Things worth mentioning…</h2>
Wes Parsons was originally going to be the BJN Player of the Game, but that was a pretty rough outing. In his first major league outing since 2019, Parsons finished with a line of 4 IP, 10 H, 9 ER, 3 BB, 3 K. Still, he ate four innings which was very needed.
Brandon Belt finished one home run shy of 20, as he hit his 19th of the season Sunday. He finished the season slashing .254/.369/.490 with 19 homers in 404 plate appearances for a 138 wRC+. What a great signing.

Cam Eden hit his first major league knock, a nice old single. There’s a good chance he’ll be on the playoff roster, as he stole 53 bases in 57 attempts in Buffalo this season. Not only that, but he offers plus defence, meaning he could be a defensive replacement.
