God the Texas Rangers are just crap, eh? Let’s dunk on them.

It didn’t start well, Jose Berrios only got one out while allowing four earned runs. <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/2022/03/29/is-the-blue-jays-starting-rotation-good-enough/">There is a part of me that is quite skeptical about the starting pitching.</a>
In fact, let’s be real, we all thought the game was done after the first three innings. Danny Jansen recorded the first hit of the Blue Jays season, but that was quickly erased after a Cavan Biggio double play ball. 
At this point, it was 6-0 with all the momentum on the Rangers side. They added another run off Trent Thornton, who to his credit, righted the ship with his two innings pitched. However, then came the bottom of the fourth.
On the second time around, Jon Gray issued a walk to Springer, a single to Bichette, a single to Vlad which scored Bo, a walk to Teoscar to load the base. With the bases loaded, Lourdes grounded up the middle, but scored a run. Then Kirk hit what looked to be a dinger, but it was a deep fly out to score Vlad.
Stripling shutdown the Rangers in the top of the fifth, which set up the perfect script for the movie. With two outs, Springer was walked, Bichette singled, Vlad singled, scoring Springer. Does this sound familiar? Then came Teoscar Hernandez to the plate and absolutely smashed the ball. 7-7 game.

In the bottom of the sixth, Jansen walked, Santiago Espinal hit a double which scored him, 8-7 game. Unfortunately, Adolis Garcia of the Rangers homered to centre to tie the game up again, 8-8.
After Bo was picked off, Hernadez walked with two outs. Gurriel scored him after the play at the plate was reviewed. After which, the Jays never looked back. Jansen homered to make it 10-8,  Gurriel made a pretty nice catch and Romano closed out the game.

So what did we learn?
Well, the Rangers absolutely suck. Not only did they blow a 2-0 lead in the 2015 ALDS, not only did they get swept by the 2016 Wildcard Jays, but now they just blew a 7-0 lead. What a pathetic franchise.
<h1>Other notes:</h1>
Springer and Chapman struck out three times.  Vlad and Bo had two hits apiece, Jansen was the player of the game in my opinion. He finished the game 2-3 with a walk and a homer. If we can get “end of the season” Danny Jansen all season, expect a 25 homer season from the primary catcher.

Espinal took over after Jon Gray was removed from the game. His double, which had a career high exit velocity of 106.9mph gave the Jays a 8-7 lead. It’s nice to see Espinal’s extra muscle coming into play.

Orelvis Martinez hit his first career home run in Double A as the Fisher Cats lost 11-6. Ricky Tiedemann flew through four innings and finished his outing with a line of 5 IP, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K.
