Go west, life is peaceful there.
On Tuesday, the Toronto Blue Jays begin a six-game road trip on the West Coast, with their first matchup being against the Los Angeles Angels. Last season, the two teams played seven games, with the Blue Jays sweeping the season series as the Angels finished with a 63-99 record. Their win percentage to start the 2025 season is slightly better, jumping from .389 to .394 as they have a 13-20 record through 33 games.
The Jays will use their eighth starter of the season, as José Ureña gets the ball. Through his 11 seasons in the big leagues, Ureña has made 152 starts in 233 plate appearances, so here’s to hoping that he can give the Jays four or five good innings, as the bullpen has been struggling as of late.
As for the lineup, it’s what we’ve been accustomed to. Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Anthony Santander make up the top three. George Springer is batting lead-off, with Alejandro Kirk and Daulton Varsho coming after Springer. Since Tyler Anderson is a lefty, Ernie Clement will get the start at third base and Myles Straw bats eighth.
Andrés Giménez remains in the ninth spot. He’s had a good few games there, slashing .417 across the board with five hits in 12 plate appearances in his past three games. Time will tell if the Jays keep him there moving forward.
Let’s set up Tuesday’s game against the Angels!
