Well, the Vancouver Canadians have finally lost a game.

Only four of the six Blue Jay affiliate teams were in action on Wednesday, as the rookie ball teams had the day off. On top of a big league win, two affiliate teams won, while two lost (one being Vancouver).
Let’s start with Triple-A and work our way down to Single-A.
<h1>Triple-A:</h1>
The Buffalo Bisons fell 4-1 to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (please get a new name). This brings their season record to 31-40, and their record against Scranton this series to 0-2.
<h2>The Blue Jays Nation Player of the Game: Jordan Luplow</h2>
Jordan Luplow is getting hot. On Wednesday evening, the outfielder hit his fifth home run of the season and went 1-4 with two strikeouts. This was his second home run in three games, as he also hit one on Sunday last week (and won the Player of The Game award).

For the season with Buffalo, he’s slashing .224/.305/.414 with five homers in 131 plate appearances.
<h2>Players worth mentioning:</h2>
L.J. Talley was the only Bisons’ player to have a multi-hit game, as he went 2-4 with two singles. For the season, he’s slashing .260/.371/.370 with two homers in 151 plate appearances.
Addison Barger made his return to the Bisons lineup for the first time since the end of April. He went 0-3 with a walk and two strikeouts. If he can find his 2022 form, there’s a chance he will earn a September callup.
Zach Pop made a rehab appearance with the Bisons, finishing with a line of 1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K. He averaged 95.5 mph on his fastball, and touched 96.1 mph.
<h1>Double-A:</h1>
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated the Somerset Patriots 2-1 on Wednesday, bringing their record to 34-30. The Somerset Patriots lead the Eastern League with a 39-25 record, and unfortunately, the Fisher Cats have been eliminated from the first half title as they sit five games back with four games to go.
Despite winning 2-1, the Fisher Cats only had one hit in the entire game (while giving up two of their own). The reason they were able to win is because they drew 10 walks.
<h2>The Blue Jays Nation Player of the Game: Chad Dallas</h2>
Death, taxes, and Chad Dallas pitching a great game in 2023. The 22-year-old finished with a line of 6.2 IP, 2 , 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K for the quality start.
For the season in New Hampshire, he has a 3.27 ERA and a 4.62 FIP in 33 innings pitched. In the six games he’s appeared in and started, he has a 22.5 K% and a 10.1 BB%.

While he’s pitching well, he isn’t dominating as he did with Vancouver earlier in the season. In High-A, he had a 2.03 ERA and a 3.11 FIP in 26.2 innings pitched. Moreover, he had a fantastic 36.3 K% and an 11.8 BB%.
If New Hampshire gets that production from him, they have a shot at winning the second half title.
<h2>Players worth mentioning:</h2>
T.J. Brock picked up the save, finishing with a line of 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K. For the season in New Hampshire, he has a 7.11 ERA and a 5.02 FIP in 6.1 innings pitched. He has struck out 30% of batters and hasn’t walked a single one. Brock also has an elevated 33.3 HR/FB ratio, but his xFIP (if the HR/FB was normal) sits at 2.31.
Orelvis Martinez always gets mentioned here, I guess that is the perk of a soon-to-be-a-Top-100-prospect. He went 0-1 with two walks, a sac fly, and a strikeout. For the season, he’s slashing .224/.325/.527 with 17 homers, a 12.6 BB% and a 21 K% in 238 plate appearances. It may be time to call him up.
Leo Jimenez is also mentioned in these reports often. On Wednesday, he went 0-2 with two walks and a strikeout. On the season, he’s slashing .297/.367/.443 with four homers in 177 plate appearances for a 122 wRC+.
<h1>High-A:</h1>
The Vancouver Canadians finally lost a game, as they fell 5-1 to the Eugene Emeralds on Wednesday. Their record now sits at 37-27, with a playoff berth already clinched.
<h2>The Blue Jays Nation Player of the Game: Jommer Hernandez</h2>
Jommer Hernandez is one of the most fun Blue Jays prospects, as his walk-up song is John Cena’s theme song.

Alex De Jesus is another player who started the season off slow, but has heated up in recent times. He went 1-2 on Wednesday, but also walked twice. For the season, he’s slashing .241/.326/.455 with seven homers in 218 plate appearances, but has been a 152 wRC+ hitter his past 106 plate appearances.
<h1>Single-A:</h1>
The Dunedin Blue Jays defeated the Clearwater Threshers 11-5 on Wednesday, bringing their record to 32-33. The first half ends after the game on Thursday, so they’ll have a chance to finish the first half at .500
With all blowouts, we’ll have some honourable mentions. Roque Sainas went 2-4 with a walk and two RBIs. Jean Arnaez went 2-4 with a strikeout. Rafael Ohashi finished with a line of 4 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K.
<h2>The Blue Jays Nation Player of the Game: Tucker Toman</h2>
The Blue Jays 77th overall pick in the 2022 draft hit his third professional home run Wednesday morning, and went 1-5 with two strikeouts.
For the season, he’s slashing .241/.352/.356 with those three homers in 256 plate appearances. He’s shown a penchant for walking, as he has a 13.3 BB%, but has a bit of an elevated strikeout rate at 29.7%.
Still, the 19-year-old third baseman/shortstop is still very young, and has shown great things in his first full professional season.
<h2>Players worth mentioning:</h2>
Manuel Beltre had a strong game on Wednesday, going 1-3 but walking twice and scoring three runs. For the season, he’s slashing .238/.347/.350 with three homers in 191 plate appearances. The 19-year-old also has a 12.6 BB% and a 20.4 K%. Not bad for one of the youngest players in Single-A
Ryan McCarty has been one of the better Baby Jays over the past three series, and he went 2-4 with two RBI, a walk, and a strikeout Wednesday. For the season, he’s slashing .260/.348/.468 with six homers in 182 plate appearances. He may get the call-up to Vancouver soon enough.
Glenn Santiago is playing well and went 2-4 with a walk and three RBIs on Wednesday afternoon. For the season, he’s slashing .241/.348/.342 with three homers in 187 plate appearances for a 97 wRC+. Since June 3rd, he slashing .277/.386/.383 with a homer in 57 plate appearances.
<h1>Setting up for Friday’s Minor League Report:</h1>
All six Blue Jays affiliates are in action on Thursday.
The Buffalo Bisons play at 6:35 PM EST, and will likely have a bullpen day. The New Hampshire Fisher Cats start at 7:05 PM EST, and have Jimmy Robbins set to take the mound.
The Vancouver Canadians play at 9:35 PM EST, and also have a lefty on the mound in Adam Macko. Dunedin’s game starts at 6:35 PM EST, but have an undetermined starting pitcher, as Ryan Jennings started last Thursday’s game.
As for the rookie league teams, the DSL Jays start at 11:00 AM EST with an unconfirmed starter (I’m guessing Samuel Colmenares). The FCL Jays start at 12:00 PM EST, and likely have Gage Stanifer on the mound.
