The Toronto Blue Jays will be getting some reinforcements when they play the Cincinnati Reds this weekend.
Kevin Kiermaier and Trevor Richards are expected to be activated from the Injured List on Friday and Bo Bichette said that he’s flying to Cincinnati and should be in Toronto’s lineup on Saturday.

Bichette played in two games for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons during his rehab assignment, one as the designated hitter and one at shortstop. He went 2-for-3 in both games and had no issue running the bases.
“I felt good, I checked all the boxes,” Bichette said following his second rehab game with the Bisons on Thursday. “I ran good, I felt good moving around at short. My swing felt good, not that I was necessarily focused on that.“It was a lot of work to get back. When you’re playing, you’re worried about the game. When you’re on the Injured List, you’re worried about getting healthy. It was a lot of working out, a lot of treatment, you’re just trying to put yourself in the best position to come back and do well when you come back.”
Bichette suffered a knee injury running between first and second base during a loss to the Baltimore Orioles on July 31. He was listed as day-to-day at first but wound up getting placed on the 10-day Injured List a few days later with patellar tendinitis.
This was the first time that Bichette had gone on the IL since the 2020 season when he missed nearly one month of play because of a knee injury. Bichette suited up for 159 games in both the 2021 and 2022 seasons and had played in 106 of Toronto’s 107 games before getting injured this season.
