<p>After getting shut out at home by the Yankees in back-to-back games to start this three-game set, the Blue Jays broke through with three home runs in support of Chris Bassitt, who tossed a scoreless gem. They avoided the sweep with a 6-0 victory and now things are looking a little more calm in the wild card race.</p>
<h2>Things worth mentioning&#8230;</h2>

<li>Yankees starter Luke Weaver was able to carry the shutout streak into the third inning of the third game before Daulton Varsho put the Blue Jays on the board for the first time in the series. The bomb was Varsho&#8217;s 19th of the season.</li>

<li>The star of the game for the Blue Jays was Chris Bassitt, who came through with one of his best pitching performances of the season. Bassitt cleared through seven-and-two-thirds innings and scattered five hits and one walk while striking out 12, which tied a season-high. After pitching through seven scoreless, Bassitt came out for the eighth inning and got two outs, which put him at 200 innings pitched for the season. Manager John Schneider pulled Bassitt from the game and he left to a standing ovation from the crowd.</li>
