<li>And then it all went to hell. In the bottom of the second, Gio Urshela hit a one-out double and then Clint Frazier hit what should have been an easy flyout to Derek Fisher. Rather than catching the ball, though, Fisher, uh, didn&#8217;t, and the Yankees ended up with runners on first and third. Next up, Brett Gardner smacked one into the outfield that Fisher <em>probably </em>should have caught, but it got down to cash in a run. That was two outs Fisher should have made, which would have had Walker and the Jays out of the inning.</li>

Gary Sanchez struck out, then Tyler Wade singled,  DJ LeMahieu singled, Luke Voit homered, Aaron Hicks homered, and Walker finally got pulled in favour of Shun Yamaguchi. One-and-two-thirds, seven runs, one earned.</li>
<li>Of course, it isn&#8217;t <em>all </em>on Fisher. I mean, ideally, Walker is able to get Tyler Wade, who came into the game with a .159 batting average, out to escape the jam and pick up his defence. But, still, you absolutely can&#8217;t give a team like the Yankees two extra outs in one inning at Yankee Stadium. They&#8217;ll make you pay. Having to throw all of those extra pitches totally derailed what looked like a possibly strong start from Walker.</li>
<li>This obviously wasn&#8217;t ideal because it meant that Charlie Montoyo had to burn through a bunch of his bullpen in the first day of a stretch in which the Jays play 14 times in 13 days. Shun Yamaguchi couldn&#8217;t find the zone and allowed seven runs, Antony Kay also had a rough time with command and allowed two, Ken Giles pitched an inning, Ryan Borucki came in for one, and Santiago Espinal finished things off in the eighth. Speaking of Espinal, this homer off of him was hilarious&#8230;</li>

<li>The Jays will now go into tomorrow&#8217;s game (<em>against Gerrit Cole, for fucks sake</em>) with Tanner Roark on the mound absolutely in need of some innings being eaten. Roark said after getting pulled last time that he&#8217;s an old school diesel and he wants to go out and throw. Well, Tanner, here&#8217;s your chance. Go and toss 150 pitches and get through six innings to give the &#8216;pen some rest. Thankfully, the Jays managed to get through without using Julian Merryweather, Thomas Hatch, Anthony Bass, A.J. Cole, or Rafael Dolis, so that&#8217;s a plus. But getting something out of Roark tomorrow would be huge.</li>
