Derek Fisher’s home run was the 300th the Orioles have allowed this season

When Derek Fisher smacked this ball just a few feet inside the foul pole for his seventh homer of the season, he helped the Baltimore Orioles make history.
As Pat Tabler begins to boldly claim at the end of this clip, a big issue for the O’s this season has been the long ball. Back in August, they set the single-season record for most home runs given up by a Major League team. Yes, that was in August. That gave the O’s a full month and a half to pad their own lead as one of the worst pitching teams of all time.
Here we are now, still with a few more games left in the season, and Orioles have allowed their 300th home run. That’s fucking incredible.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the coin, the Yankees, despite having Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton miss major time due to injury, are right on the cusp of hitting 300 homers themselves. How??? Not the ball, that’s for certain!
