<p>The Blue Jays teed off on Logan Webb with a five-run first inning and cruised to a 6-1 victory on Wednesday night. Trevor Richards and Bowden Francis combined to toss a seven-inning gem so the runs from the first inning were the only ones that Toronto needed.</p>
<h2>Things worth mentioning&#8230;</h2>
<ul>
<li>After not giving Kevin Gausman any run support on Tuesday, the Blue Jays put together a five-run first inning with what felt like a month&#8217;s worth of hits with runners in scoring position. George Springer hit a leadoff double, Bo Bichette drove him in with a single, and Brandon Belt came through with a double. After Vladimir Guerrero Jr. grounded out and Matt Chapman flew out, Daulton Varsho came to the plate and drove in Belt with a double. Whit Merrifield doubled to score Varsho and Danny Jansen singled to score Merrifield for Toronto&#8217;s third and fourth hits with runners in scoring position in the inning. All nine Blue Jays had at least one hit on Wednesday and the team went 6-for-13 with RISP.</li>
<li>The bats went dead silent until the seventh inning when they scored a run off of former Blue Jay Ross Stripling. Cavan Biggio doubled and George Springer drove him in with a single. The following inning, Guerrero Jr. hit a ground ball that came off of the bat at 111.8 miles per hour. It ate up San Fran&#8217;s shortstop and Vladdy wound up with a hustle double, but the Jays couldn&#8217;t cash him in.</li>
<li>The bullpen day went as well as anybody could have hoped for. Trevor Richards and Bowden Francis combined to scatter one run on five hits and one walk over seven innings while striking out seven. Trent Thornton and Yimi Garcia finished off the game with scoreless innings so the Blue Jays have their top bullpen arms rested for Thursday&#8217;s series finale.</li>
