Game Threat: Are You Sure You Wanna Watch? Blue Jays (35-38) @ Royals (36-36)

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. That’s what the Blue Jays did last night. With a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth, the bullpen imploded, handing Kansas City an improbable come-from-behind win. It was the worst loss of this season, one that just sucks the life out of you. Are you sure you’re emotionally ready to go through another baseball game today?
News and Scuttlebutt
The big news today is the mental health of Roberto Osuna. It isn’t common we see athletes come out and say they’re struggling psychologically, but good on Osuna for being honest about his issues. As you know, the Jays bullpen imploded last night, and everyone sat around wondering why the closer wasn’t available. It’s something he said he’s never experienced before. Hopefully he can work through it and the Blue Jays are supportive. This is another reminder for everyone that professional athletes, no matter how good, are still human.

And now, the lineups…
Blue Jays
Marco Estrada: 4.98 ERA, 85 IP, 10 H9, 1.5 HR9, 2.5 BB9, 10.2 SO9
Royals
The #Royals look to build on last night's walk-off victory in today's afternoon matchup with the Blue Jays. #RaisedRoyal
Jason Vargas: 2.27 ERA, 87 1/3 IP, 8.1 H9, 0.6 HR9, 2.1 BB9, 7.0 SO9
Jason Vargas, who’s been oddly good this year, will go up against Marco Estrada, who’s been oddly bad recently. Steve Pearce will make his way back into the lineup, while Luke Maile will catch so Russell Martin can have a day at third base.
