We aren’t watching for a playoff run anymore, it seems. With last weekend’s sweep in Chicago and yesterday’s suffocating loss, we’re just letting the air out of the balloon one day at a time. Tonight, we’ll get to enjoy Marcus Stroman as he looks to put together yet another excellent start in a very, very memorable breakout season.

And now, the lineups…
Blue Jays
Marcus Stroman: 2.99 ERA, 159 1/3 IP, 8.9 H9, 0.8 HR9, 2.8 BB9, 7.4 SO9
Rays
Here's who we'll send out there tonight. #RaysUp
Austin Pruitt: 5.37 ERA, 62 IP, 11.3 H9, 0.9 HR9, 2.2 BB9, 6.8 SO9
Steve Pearce is batting leadoff because, why the fuck not? He’s been hitting the ball well recently, and, even though Tampa isn’t starting a righty, you might as well do what you can do get one of your hottest hitters as many at bats as possible. He’ll get a chance to hit against Austin Pruitt, a rookie who started the season in Tampa’s bullpen but was tossed into the rotation due to injury. Pruitt has had a pretty ‘meh’ season, so hopefully this Quad-A lineup can give us some fireworks.
