Game Threat: Salvaging This ‘Winnable’ Series, Blue Jays (17-24) @ Braves (16-21)

Remember when I said this was a winnable series and that if the Jays swept it they would be at .500? Haaaa ha! So much for that! Atlanta has won the first three, now the Jays have to win tonight in order to avoid the four-game sweep.
News and Scuttlebutt
Two major pieces of news today: Kevin Pillar was suspended by the Blue Jays for two games for his homophobic slur in yesterday’s loss, and Dwight Smith Jr. is up in his spot. Also, Freddie Freeman is going to miss the next couple of months due to a broken wrist suffered from that Aaron Loup pitch last night. Tensions are going to be high tonight.

And now, the lineups…
Blue Jays
Marcus Stroman: 51 1/3 IP, 3.33 ERA, 10.0 H9, 0.7 HR9, 2.5 BB9, 7.0 SO9
Braves
Tonight’s lineup…#Braves 1. Ender CF 2. Phillips 2B 3. Markakis RF 4. Kemp LF 5. Flowers C 6. Jace 1B 7. Dansby SS 8. Ruiz 3B 9. Teheran P
Julio Teheran: 46 1/3 IP, 4.08 ERA, 8.5 H9, 1.0 HR9, 4.3 BB9, 6.6 SO9
I have a feeling that somebody on the Blue Jays is going to take a Julio Teheran fastball to the ribs tonight. And that sucks. But hopefully when that happens, the umpires handle it well, boot the pitcher out, and the Jays take their base, and move on rather than retaliating. I hope this doesn’t turn into a 2015 Royals situation, where Kansas City is up inside on the Jays hitters all game, but the Blue Jay is the one who ends up being suspended. Just win the damn game, nothing else matters. It’s the fuckin’ Braves, nobody cares what they think.
