What a game that was Monday night.
A massive, massive performance from Jay Jackson helped the Jays stay alive and gave them a chance to drive home some runs in extra innings.
Along the way, the Dodgers utilized six of eight bullpen arms with Phil Bickford, who took the loss in the 11th inning, took the most of the action throwing 33 pitches. Why is this important? Well, the Dodgers are trotting out lefty Julio Urias, who has had more than enough struggles as of late.
Over his four starts in the month of July, Urias has posted a 6.75 ERA across 20 innings allowing 15 earned runs off 18 hits. He’s lasting, on average just five innings.
In his first start of July, he allowed five earned runs across three innings pitched to the Kansas City Royals, and in his last start, eight earned runs across five innings to the Baltimore Orioles.
Let’s see if the Jays can do their thing against the lefty tonight.
