The Toronto Blue Jays are running hot with two big wins over the Texas Rangers.
While Friday night saw them score three runs in the first, add on singles in the fourth and seventh, and walk it off with an Ernie Clement single to left-field, the Jays kept that momentum rolling into Saturday afternoon’s affair.
The Jays got to Michael Lorenzen early, racking up four runs and chasing him out of the game in the first inning after throwing just 40 pitches. They kept it up, tacking on a trio of runs in a 7-3 win, and now they’ll look to carry it into Sunday afternoon’s game.
Most notably, Clement will slide up to second in the order after batting .444 through the first two games of this series. He’s quietly had a solid season for the Jays, slashing .264/.280/.415 with six home runs and 0.7 fWAR, the eighth best number among Jays hitters.
Amid a slew of trades and a different look in the clubhouse, Jose Berrios is set to take the mound opposite of Jon Gray in what should be another fun game.
