The Toronto Blue Jays have a chance to do something they haven’t all season: split a series with the Baltimore Orioles.
It’s the closest they’ve been to any modicum of success against the AL East-leading club this season. And for the Jays, it comes a day after another strong performance from Yusei Kikcuhi.
He went six innings allowing just one earned run off six hits while issuing one walk as his ERA improved to 3.67. Simply put: he is helping the Jays win games in a big way.
Today, it’s Kevin Gausman taking the mound for the Jays, as the O’s debut deadline acquisition Jack Flaherty.
It’s not the first time the Jays have seen a new acquisition on the opposing mound. Last Friday, the LA Angels trotted out Lucas Giolito for his debut with the club, but the Jays got to him scoring three earned runs off six hits chasing him from the game after five and a third innings.
Can they do it again this afternoon?
