After falling in rough fashion Monday against the Cincinnati Reds, the Toronto Blue Jays bounced back in a big way Tuesday, thumping their visiting opponents 10-3.
It came off the backs of two George Springer home runs, as Alejandro Kirk, Spencer Horwitz and Leo Gimenez added blasts of their own. And on Wednesday evening, the Blue Jays are looking to pull off a reverse sweep.
The Jays will send Yariel Rodriguez to the mound, who looks to continue a strong stretch of starts. Across eight starts since the beginning of July, he’s posted a 3.05 ERA, 4.18 FIP while holding opposing hitters to a .596 OPS.
Cincinnati, meanwhile, will send out Nick Martinez, who has been in and out of the starting rotation all year. His last three appearances have all have been in the rotation, where he’s posted a stellar 1.50 ERA and 2.44 FIP, allowing a .509 OPS to opposing hitters.
