More baseball!
And enjoy it while it lasts, because we might not be seeing a whole lot more of it this year in Toronto.
On Sunday ahead of their series against the Texas Rangers, the Jays had a 79.3 per cent chance of making the playoffs, and a 4.2 per cent chance at winning the World Series, according to Fan Graphs.
After dropping all four games against the Rangers, however, those series have absolutely plummeted. Their chance to make the playoffs sits at 33.1 per cent, and a World Series win has a 1.6 per cent chance of happening.
Not great!
The Blue Jays control their own fate and over the next two weeks, the Jays play five series — all against AL East foes. This weekend they open against the Boston Red Sox, before heading to New York to visit the Yankees, and Tampa Bay to visit the Rays. Then, each of those two clubs come through Toronto and all of a sudden, this regular season will be over as quickly as it started.
Tonight, Jose Berrios opens things up for the Jays across Brayan Bello.
