The Toronto Blue Jays will look to build off a 11-inning Friday night affair against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Kevin Gausman struggled early, allowing two earned runs in the first inning on a night where he gave up nine hits and two walks. But he shook that tough first inning off, letting those two runs be the only he gave up. The offence, meanwhile, came to life with a three-run third inning. St. Louis would tie it up in the eighth, before Alejandro Kirk would walk the game off with a fly ball single in the bottom of the 11th.
Jose Berrios will take the mound for the Jays Saturday afternoon, hoping to continue his hot streak. While Leo Jimenez was in the initial Blue Jays lineup, he was removed shortly before the game with what the team is calling a right index finger contusion.
