The Blue Jays are back in a playoff spot again.
Saturday’s game was one sick roller coaster, as the Jays waited until the bottom of the ninth to tie the game, before eventually winning 4-3 in extra innings.
Chris Bassitt gave the Jays everything he had, going 7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K before the bullpen only allowed one hit in their six innings of work. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also hit his 24th home run of the season and hit his third home run in as many games. He went 2-3 with three walks. Vladdy is back.
This afternoon, veteran lefty Hyun Jin Ryu will toe the rubber against Canadian Nick Pivetta as the Blue Jays look to complete the sweep. Winning today would guarantee the Blue Jays are in a playoff spot when they wake up on Monday as the Seattle Mariners are a half-game back following their loss to the L.A. Dodgers on Saturday.
