The Yusei Kikuchi Redemption Tour continues tonight as the Jays head to the Bronx and take on the Yankees.
It’s Toronto’s second series of the year against an AL East opponent and after taking two of three against the Rays last week, the Jays will look to do the same here against New York.
We get another look at the lefty Yusei Kikuchi on the mound tonight and he’s been having a great season. His chase rate is in the 93rd percentile, and his K% and BB% are in the 72nd and 81st percentiles, respectively.
He’s struggled a bit against power this season, and that’s something the Yankees definitely have, so the Jays will be looking for a calm night at the plate from him. Coming off an off-day yesterday the team should hopefully be feeling fresh heading into a big series this weekend.
Tomorrow afternoon, we get Alek Manoah on the mound, so it should be a fun affair as he goes head-to-head with Gerrit Cole.
