The Toronto Blue Jays will be without George Springer for a second consecutive game as they look to split their two-game set with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Springer had been dealing with a viral infection dating back to the Jays’ series against the Boston Red Sox and while it was believed to have cleared up, that doesn’t actually appear to be the case.
He was held out of Tuesday’s game, and is out of the lineup against today. It’s been a tough start to the year for Springer who is slashing just .209/.272/.302 through 35 games this year.
Today, everybody bumps a spot up the lineup as Cavan Biggio slides into right field to fill Springer’s spot.
