After dropping three of four to the Detroit Tigers, the Toronto Blue Jays will continue their road trip through the Central Division with a three-game set against the Chicago White Sox.
The series opener will feature the exact same pitching matchup that we saw in last week’s series finale between the Blue Jays and White Sox in Toronto, as Chris Bassitt will go up against Nick Nastrini. Bassitt held the Sox off the board over seven innings of work while the Blue Jays chased Nastrini in the fourth inning after tagging him for eight runs.
The White Sox are dead last in baseball with a 15-39 record, so this is a series the Blue Jays need to capitalize on. The team has already fallen out of contention in the American League East standings and they’re also starting to slide in the Wild Card race. Toronto’s 23-29 record has them five games back of the final playoff spot in the American League with a pack of solid teams in front of them.
