It&#8217;s seemingly hard to believe because it sure hasn&#8217;t felt like the Jays have won sixty percent of their games in the last month but here we are. It&#8217;s probably because of a few pretty rough losses.
On May 27th, they dropped a 9-7 decision to the Minnesota Twins. On June 5th, they fell 11-4 to the Houston Astros. They dropped another stinker against Minnesota on June 10th, losing 9-4, and followed it up three days later losing 11-6 to Baltimore.
Oh, it gets worse.
On June 18th, they lost an 11-7 game to the Texas Rangers, and kicked off a series against Miami the next day with an 11-0 loss. Last Friday, it was a 5-4 loss to the Oakland Athletics that had everyone talking.
While they got outscored 67-32 in those seven games, they&#8217;ve outscored their opponents a staggering 85-44 in the other 21. Some wild numbers for a team that has had more than their fair share of up-and-down times this season.
Tonight, Kevin Gausman takes the mound kicking off what will be a tough three-game set against the San Francisco Giants, who have been red-hot as of late. They&#8217;ve won nine straight road games and 14 of their last 16.
Against teams above .500, like the Blue Jays are, the Giants have posted a solid 24-17 record.
