Death, taxes, and Vladimir Guerreo Jr. heating up.
All three things are inevitable in life and the latter of the trio is happening before our eyes.
Dating back to his home run at the Rogers Center on June 23rd, Vladdy has been crushing the ball in the 10 games since. He’s slashed .297/.381/.703 with a 1.084 OPS across 42 plate appearances. He’s hit four home runs and driven in 12 RBI over that time with his 11 hits, too.
The pace over 162 games is staggering. 178 hits. 65 home runs. 194 RBI’s. You get the point.
He’s heating up at the right time for the Jays and getting an All-Star Game nod — and the fact he’s taking part in the Home Run Derby again — is a great sign of how he’s feeling.
Tonight, it’s Jose Berrios taking the mound for the Jays as they look to win this series against the Chicago White Sox. For the Southsiders, it’s Lance Lynn heading to the mound.
