Lourdes Gurriel Jr. out for the season with a hamstring strain per #BlueJays
Injury updates: Gurriel out for season, Sanchez might be ready for spring training

So, we have some news. Which do you want first? Do you want the bad news or the really bad news?
Let’s start with the bad news. Lourdes Gurriel left Monday’s game in the first inning with hamstring tightness. That injury will end his season. This isn’t that big of a deal given the fact there are only six games left. Gurriel had himself a damn good rookie season.
It’s a bit of a shame he had it cut short, but it isn’t the end of the world. They’re saying it’s a Grade 2 hamstring strain meaning Gurriel will be out of action for four-to-six weeks. This shouldn’t be an issue that follows him into spring training.
Aaron Sanchez had surgery on his finger today per GM Ross Atkins #BlueJays hopeful he'll have a full spring training
Aaaaand the really bad news. What the fuck?! Aaron Sanchez went for surgery on his finger today — the suitcase one, not the blister one — and, according to Ross Atkins, the team is HOPEFUL he’ll be ready for spring training. Hopeful? HOPEFUL???!!! Good lord!
Sanchez’s last two seasons have been completely derailed by two different finger issues. Last year, he had that blister that totally ruined things for him. This year, he dropped a suitcase and strained his finger and had the second half of his season derailed.
It’s honestly shocking. This issue just won’t go away. Get Sanchez’s hands in a goddamn aluminum glove so that he can’t fuck it up even further.
