The Blue Jays have won two of their last three series.

On Tuesday, the Blue Jays defeated the Chicago White Sox 7-2 after a rather sizable and stupid rain delay. Their last two series wins have come against the White Sox, and their record sits at 25-29.
In the top of the second, Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit his sixth double of the season, cashing in George Springer to give the Jays a 1-0 lead. Two batters later, and Davis Schneider hit his second double of the game, his 13th double of the season, giving the Jays a 3-0 lead, all they’d need.

Chicago got a run back in the bottom of the third with a Nicky Lopez double, and the game stayed that way for a while. That was until Schneider drove in his third run of the game on a sacrifice fly.
The game got out of hand in the top of the eight, as Bo Bichette hit a single that scored a runner to make it 5-1. Justin Turner followed that up with a single of his own, scoring Danny Jansen and Bo Bichette to make it 7-1.
In the bottom of the eighth, Andrew Vaughn hit a single that scored the White Sox’s second run of the game, but at this point it was already out of hand. The Blue Jays have now won two consecutive games.
<h2>Things worth mentioning…</h2>
Kevin Gausman had a great outing, finishing with a line of 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB to bring his season ERA to 4.14. Over his last three games, or 18 innings, he’s given up five runs and has a quality start in all three of those games. His season low for ERA was 3.78, but that was before six earned runs in the next game.

This was the Davis Schneider game™, as he went 3-4 with a walk, two doubles, a single, and a sac fly for three RBIs. For the season, he’s batting .255 with a .836 OPS. If you thought last season was a fluke and he caught lightning in a bottle, the first two months this season should tell you otherwise.
That was George Springer’s best game of the season, as he hit two singles and reached base an additional three times with three walks. Springer may not be good enough to leadoff anymore, but the move down has helped him big time. He’s even batting over .200 now!
Chad Green pitched in his first game since April 15, pitching a scoreless inning while giving up just one hit to bring his season ERA to 2.08. His return is huge for a bullpen that just hasn’t been good this season.
It was hits galore for the Blue Jays, as the team had 13 of them in the game. Three were doubles, while Schneider, Danny Jansen, Daulton Varsho, George Springer all had multi-hit games. Every starter except Kevin Kiermaier had a hit in this game.
What the heck was that delay? It was pouring in the Windy City in the ninth inning, but instead of putting the tarp on and calling the game because the Jays had a 7-2 lead, they allowed Toronto to hit. That means that despite the score and the fact there was just a half inning remaining, the teams had a lengthy delay before playing the bottom of the ninth. The delay was an hour and eight minutes for seven pitches.
