It looks like Bo Bichette will make his return tonight

Here’s a much-needed boost after yesterday’s nightmare.
According to Shi Davidi, the Blue Jays are planning to activate Bo Bichette from the 10-day Injured List ahead of tonight’s game against the Mets. Davidi didn’t specify whether or not Bichette would be playing at shortstop, but it’s safe to assume he’ll be in the lineup.
This is obviously a huuuuge boost for the team as the lineup is currently ravaged by injuries. Both Teoscar Hernandez and Rowdy Tellez are currently on the IL, so getting Bichette back will give the lineup some more depth.
Bichette was slashing an impressive .361/.391/.672 line before he hurt his knee back in August, so let’s hope he can pick up right where he left off.
In other news, tonight will be the much-anticipated debut of Alejandro Kirk, the Blue Jays’ No. 6 prospect. The 21-year-old Kirk has never played higher than Single-A, but the Jays must believe in him enough to view him as an upgrade at this point.
Kirk produced a .290/.403/.465 line between Lansing and Dunedin last season, walking 56 times and striking out only 39 times. Given how poorly Toronto’s catchers have hit this season, Kirk should be an upgrade at the plate despite his lack of experience.
