Things worth mentioning…

• José Berríos put together another quality start for the Blue Jays, as he scattered one earned run on four hits and three walks over six innings of work. He had a couple of rocky starts to kick off the season in Kansas City and Anaheim, but, since then, Berríos has settled nicely into a groove with quality starts in six of his last nine outings. It’s safe to say the workhorse the Blue Jays traded for in the summer of 2021 is back.
• Jordan Romano wasn’t available in this game but the bullpen still got the job done without much trouble. Trevor Richards pitched a scoreless seventh, Nate Pearson tossed a clean frame in the eighth, and Erik Swanson came in for the ninth to record his first save as a Blue Jay.
• This wasn’t a banner day offensively for the Blue Jays but they managed to scrape two runs across the plate, which is all they needed. Brandon Belt hit a leadoff double in the sixth inning and later came around to score and Vladdy Jr. smacked a clutch double to score George Springer in the top of the ninth inning.
