After re-aggravating his leg in last night’s loss to the Orioles, Josh Donaldson has been put on the 10-day disabled list. Coming up in his place will be the Blue Jays’ late-spring addition Chris Coghlan.
Coghlan, a member of last year’s World Series winning Chicago Cubs team, has slashed a .217/.357/.304 line with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons through seven games this season. He isn’t currently on the 40-man roster, so the Blue Jays will need to make a corresponding roster move to fit Coghlan in.
#BlueJays see Chris Coghlan as someone who "can play everywhere," 3B included per Gibbons. Where's Coghlan most comfortable? "In the lineup"
John Gibbons says Josh Donaldson's calf not worse than before but since he was going to miss time #BlueJays felt "let's take care of it"
