The Minnesota Twins will have Carlos Correa in the lineup for game one against the Toronto Blue Jays after all.

The shortstop, who has been dealing with plantar fasciitis in his foot, missed the final 11 games of the Twins&#8217; season amid a disappointing year. Correa signed a mammoth six-year, $200-million deal with the team last offseason, and his first year has seen him post a awful .230/.312/.399 slash line.

Correa has been dealing with the injury in his foot since May impacting virtually every element of his game as he&#8217;s posted career-low offensive numbers for a full season. During a Sept. 19th game, Correa went to catch a popup, and suffered &#8220;a full tear to the central cortex of the fascia,&#8221; <a href="https://www.mlb.com/news/carlos-correa-placed-on-10-day-injured-list-with-plantar-fasciitis#:~:text=CINCINNATI%20%2D%2D%20The%20aggravation%20of,and%20available%20for%20postseason%20games.">MLB.com</a> reported the following day.
There had been some hope he would be able to play in the Twins&#8217; final series of the season against the Colorado Rockies, but the team opted to keep him resting for the post-season.
The update on Correa isn&#8217;t the only one that came Monday, as Nightengale also reported that Royce Lewis&#8217; status is up in the air.

The electric rookie who set a franchise record this year with five grand slams in 58 games, landed on the IL just days after Correa, had suffered a strained left hamstring. As Nightengale noted, Lewis is questionable to even be a DH in the series.
Called up by the Twins in late May, Lewis slashed an impressive .309/.372/.548 to go along with 15 home runs in a season that had been shortened by injuries — a common theme for the 24-year-old who was drafted 1st overall in 2017. Lewis&#8217; journey has been arduous, to say the least, when accounting for two ACL tears suffered since he was drafted.
Outfielder Byron Buxton, meanwhile, is also an unknown at the time of writing for the series as he works his was back from a knee injury.
