The games in Florida were rained out and a recently-signed pitcher made his professional debut.
On top of that, a big league pitcher had a fantastic rehab outing and an affiliate was shut out. Overall, the teams went 2-2 on Tuesday.
Let’s take a look at all of that in the latest Minor League Report.

Malmö Oatmilkers walk it off

On Tuesday, it was the Buffalo Bisons’ turn to play as the Malmö Oat Milkers. Each of the 120 Minor League affiliate teams will play one game as the team in partnership with milk company Oatly.
The power of the milk gave rehabbing big leaguer Yariel Rodríguez insane powers, evidently.  He finished with a line of 4 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 K with 12 whiffs to bring his Triple-A ERA to 0.52. It was one of the most dominant rehab appearances I’ve seen.
Following Rodríguez was Paxton Schultz, who finished with a line of 3.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER (2 R), 0 BB, 3 K to bring his season ERA to 4.33. Brandon Eisert picked up the win, striking out two in an inning and two thirds pitched.
It was a quiet day with the bats though. Addison Barger had a single and walked twice, while Orelvis Martinez, Riley Tirotta, and Brian Serven all had a hit, with the latter also walking once. Phil Clarke walked twice, while Steward Berroa, Cam Eden, and Damiano Palmegiani all walked once.

New Hampshire defeated Richmond

Another low-hitting affair that turned out to be a win, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 3-1 to move to 27-31 for the season.
In total, there were six hits for the Fisher Cats, with two of them belonging to Josh Kasevich, a double and a single. Alex De Jesus also had a double, but it was Rainer Nuñez’s day, as he hit his fifth home run of the season and walked twice. Alan Roden and Devonte Brown also had singles.
Michael Dominguez threw five scoreless innings with one-hit allowed, but walked five batters with four strikeouts. Trevor Clifton pitched a scoreless inning, Andrew Bechtold gave up the only run in his inning, while Justin Kelly pitched a clean inning. Ryan Boyer picked up the save, striking out two batters in his inning of work.

Vancouver shutout

Unlike the teams in the upper minors, the Vancouver Canadians were unable to pick up the win in a low-hitting affair.
Lazaro Estrada had a great outing though, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 K to bring his season ERA to 2.82. He could be up in New Hampshire in the near future. Grayson Thurman pitched two innings, striking out three, while Anders Tolhurst walked a batter and allowed a hit, but threw two scoreless innings as well.
Jackson Hornung had two singles, the only multi-hit game for a Canadians batter. Jommer Hernandez, Jean Arnaez, and Estiven Machado all had a single making up Vancouver’s five hits. The latter walked once, as did Jamari Baylor.

DSL Jays’ two-game losing streak ended

The Dominican Summer League Blue Jays fell 9-4 to the DSL Arizona Red, bringing their season record to 2-3.
Only four hits were registered, but half of them were extra-base hits. Shortstop Rafael Flores hit his first professional double and drove in two, while Juarlin Soto hit a triple and also walked twice. Other players with a hit were Aldo Gaxiola (who walked once) and Esmeiquel Arrieche, who each had a single. Moreover, Randy Soto and J.T. Bain walked three times each.
Silvano Hechavarría made his professional debut after being signed less than a week ago, but it didn’t go great. The 21-year-old finished with a line of 3 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K. Afterwards Johandi Medina appeared in his first professional game and gave up an earned run in an inning, while Victor Espiritu gave up an earned run and an unearned run in two innings while striking out four.
Juan Ramirez gave up two walks and an unearned run in two thirds of an inning and Josue Loreto gave up an earned run and struck out two in an inning and a third.
