There were only two Blue Jays’ affiliates in action on Monday.

Both the rookie teams were in action while all four of the “A” affiliates had the day off. The Dominican Summer League Jays won their second straight game, while the Florida Complex League Jays did not.

<h2>FCL Jays were blown out big time</h2>
The Florida Complex League Jays played a late game and were decimated 16-3 to bring their season record to 6-21. They need the draft to come as soon as possible to get some reinforcements.
Of the four hits the team had, two were doubles. Arjun Nimmala hit his second double of the season at the level, while Kendry Chirinos hit his third double. Other players with a hit were Aneudi Escanio and Railin Tejada, the latter reaching base three times. Sadly, Nimmala and Enmanuel Bonilla each had three strikeouts.
Pitchers didn’t have a great day as you can see by the 16 runs, 13 of which were earned. Cristopher Castro gave up seven earned runs in an inning and two thirds pitched, while Luis Torres gave up three earned runs, six in total, in two innings and a third pitched.
Jorge Guerra also gave up his fair share of runs, giving up three earned runs in an inning and two thirds before the bullpen had some stability. Julio Ortiz struck out four and allowed two walks in 2.1 innings, while Lluveres Severino gave up a walk in an inning pitched.
<h2>DSL Jays won 5-2</h2>
On the other side of things, the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays had more success, winning 5-2 against the DSL Arizona Red (one of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ DSL teams). Their record now sits at 2-2.
The two Soto’s had the two extra-base hits, as Randy Soto and Juarlin Soto each had a double. The latter had an incredible four-hit performance, making up for 40% of the team’s hits. Other players with a hit were Jarold Montealto, Aldo Gaxiola, Yorman Licourt, and J.T. Bain, who had two singles in this game.
Eduar Gonzalez started the game, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K to bring his season ERA to 2.25. Danny Martinez struck out and walked a batter in his scoreless inning. Geremy Barroso gave up two unearned runs, as well as two walks and two strikeouts in an inning and two thirds pitched. Edgar Gallegos picked up the save, striking out a batter and walking two in an inning and a third.
<h2>Setting up this week</h2>
The “A” affiliates are back in action on Tuesday, with all four teams starting a home stand.
Buffalo will be facing off against the Worcester Red Sox, who are 29-34 compared to Buffalo’s 32-31 record. The Bisons are currently in fourth in the International League East and are 11 games back with a whole whack of teams to pass. At this point, they’ll have to look towards the second half. Yariel Rodríguez will start this game.

New Hampshire starts a homestand against an out-of-division opponent, the Richmond Flying Squirrels. This is their third consecutive game against Eastern League Southwest opponents, which is not great. They have a 26-31 record, but are just five games back of Portland with four teams to jump. Michael Dominguez will start the game.

The Northwest League is up for grabs, and the Vancouver Canadians have a great opportunity to make up some ground, as they’ll be playing the division leaders, Spokane. Vancouver is just 3.5 games back with a 26-26 record and two teams to jump. They need to win this series, big time. Lazaro Estrada will get the ball on Tuesday.
Like Buffalo and probably New Hampshire, the Dunedin Blue Jays’ first half is all but over, as their 29-28 record has them eight games back of first place with two teams to jump. They’ll face the Bradenton Marauders (25-32) with Jorge Bautista starting on Tuesday.
Both the Florida Complex League and Dominican Summer League Jays will be in action on Tuesday as well.
